Family house, Zilina

Family house is located on a land smaller than usual size and therefore the mass of the building itself devides the space into the formal front yard and the personal back yard. The back yard is facing south meaning the closed garden provides natural outdoor space for the residents during the day.

The form of the building follows desired attributes of inner space. While primarily opening to the south, the northern facade itself is much more strict. Different shapes of the floor’s masses are influenced by different functions on the floors. Basic requirement to separate noisy and quiet part of the house by the floors means the second floor needs more space, eventually displaying in bigger mass.
